What can be assured is the list will expand. The Exponential Price Curve is not over, even if Moore’s law is. The cost of computing power and storage can be expected to keep declining and interconnectivity to continue to expand. With this democratization of core technologies, including AI, the opportunities to build on the stack are enormous.
Technology also has the potential to solve many of the challenges of this world, as we race to ensure a sustainable equitable future for ourselves and all life on the planet. All technology, however, is a double edged sword, fire can warm you and cook your food, and also burn down your house. As we look at the future of technologies, these are the questions we are asking.
