How to stop letting self-doubt sabotage your life by taking action on your intuition
Do you take action on your intuition, or do you doubt yourself?
How many times a day does an idea, thought, feeling, emotion or desire cross your mind or heart directing you toward something out of the ordinary of your standard day-to-day tasks?
And how often do you push that feeling or idea aside because you’re short on time, or the idea makes you feel a little uncomfortable?
It happens to me. It happens to all of us. We all think, “I’ll make that call later when I have more time,” or “Maybe I’ll pursue that dream when the kids are older,” or “I’ve never done anything like that before, maybe I can’t.”
Every time you push your intuition down and away, you move farther from your true purpose and the ability to achieve your highest level of self.
Even when you try to hide them, your intuitive thoughts don’t go anywhere, they live within you. And when you ignore them, you’ll realize suddenly it’s a year later, and you still haven’t made that call to mend that relationship, you haven’t written a page on the book you’ve always wanted to write, and you rue the time you could have had.
You + your intuition = the most important relationship
My friends, it’s time to start building a relationship with your intuition and trusting your instincts and inner voice. The most important relationship you’ll have in your life is the one you have with yourself. You need to be able to trust yourself and how your intuition guides you.
I invite you to listen to your gut and take action to support what it tells you.
If you’ve got something to say to someone, call them, text them, write them a note or send them a voicemail.
If your gut instinct says you are feeling overwhelmed and you feel like you need to take better care of yourself, then take an action toward that.
If you feel like you want to start a creative project, take a step toward doing it. You don’t have to do anything huge, but you do need to do something. And then do something again the next time your gut tells you, and the next. This is how you’ll get to the place you need to go.
How to overcome self-doubt
It may sound counteractive, but one of the best ways to overcome doubt is to actually take courageous action.
If a thought comes up, sending you a signal and feeling in your body, before you overthink it or second guess it, take action on it.
Because as you take action, you’ll start to see whether or not it was the right thing to do. Only in this way can you start learning about your inner voice. Only in this way will small steps everyday suddenly lead to exponential outcomes. Don’t leave most of your life in your thoughts. Live your life.
Closing the distance between intuition and procrastination
If you look at your life and want more (who doesn’t’?), if you feel like you’re lacking in certain areas of life, the key is to stop procrastinating and act on your intuition – this is where we miss out on most of life.
Have the courage to take action and trust your intuition.
To start practicing this muscle, send someone you’ve been thinking of or meaning to thank a note telling them what they mean to you. Today. Right now. Because you are not guaranteed all the time in the world.
I promise it will spark joyful feelings that will trickle to others, leading to less regret down the line.
